An inspiring building
It is eye-catching because of the twist in the building, but its shape is also functional - the twist means that no shadows fall on the adjacent buildings. It also means that the large open storeys get less sun but more northerly light. The triangular windows add a special touch.
The design was produced by Xaveer De Geyter Architects (XDGA).
The Provincial Government Building has 14 floors and is just under 58 metres tall. Around 860 staff members have been working there since the middle of October in 2018. The office space offers room for 660 office staff. They share different types of work stations, no one has their ‘own desk’. This means the space is used efficiently.
